How to Measure Your Ring Size - Find Your Ring Size at Home

We feel ring sizing should be straightforward. No need for advanced tools to determine your ideal fit — just common household items. Choose the method that suits you best and align your measurement with our chart.

How a Ring Should Fit

The ideal fit slides over your knuckle with slight resistance and rests snugly without pinching. It should be easily removable but not too loose.

How to Measure Your Ring Size - Sizing Tips

The evening is the ideal time to measure, since fingers tend to be a bit larger by the end of the day, giving a more accurate fit. Keep band width in mind—wider bands feel tighter, so go up half a size for anything over 4mm. If your knuckle is bigger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between. When in doubt, size up—it’s much easier to adjust a slightly loose ring than one that’s uncomfortably tight.

Method 1: The String or Paper Test

What you’ll need:

  • A strip of paper, string, or floss
  • A pen
  • A ruler (millimeters are best)

Steps:

  1. Wrap the paper or string around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark the point where the ends overlap.
  3. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
  4. Compare the number to our size chart to find your ring size.
